HAPPY NEW YEAR

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  LET’S ALL MAKE 2016 THE BEST YEAR YET! The wonderful painting above, commissioned from our good friend, Gail Engel, reminds us how lucky we are to live in this wonderful place.  It certainly is up in the clouds, but but not actually the “cloud” as in techspeak, as Cloudlake is still a low-tech destination i.e. little mobile coverage, which means no-one can get you (but we can always give you a message in an emergency 🙂 ) no television (so no bad news!!) but we do have dvd and vcr with a small library of these to choose from and no wifi (just for a little while, so you can spend real time with the people you love).  So, hope you will take some ‘authentic’ time out this year, come up into the clouds, i.e. the mountains, to Cloudlake – we would love to see you again and for the first time.  Have a wonderful year!! ...

No Phone at the moment!!

Hello Unfortunately some workmen have today cut through our phone cable whilst they were doing some work next door and as we have little mobile coverage here the only way you can contact us is via our email    cloudlake@bigpond.com.  Hopefully it will be fixed very soon perhaps tomorrow....

Baby It’s Cold Outside!!!

Baby it is indeed cold outside – Winter has arrived with a chilly blast but how lovely it is to snuggle up in front of a warming fire with a glass of wine or a hot coffee.  So imagine yourself here …. tempting isn’t it?!!      ...

New Opportunity for July School Holidays!!

We have just had a change of bookings for Mother of Ducks for the July School Holidays i.e. from Wednesday 8th until Sunday 12th July – I know we have been turning guests away but here is an opportunity to escape to the mountains with your family this winter. If this appeals to you give us a call on 07 4697 8266 or email  cloudlake@bigpond.com – it will be lovely and cool !!!...

AUTUMN IS FINALLY HERE!!

Warm beautiful days followed by cool nights – just perfect for relaxing.  The Indian Summer which has been lingering on seems to be leaving at last and the nights are cooling down.  Not that it ever is very hot here at night – has been about 20 degrees at night during the Summer but this week it is dropping to 14 – 16 degrees – much better for sleeping and indeed sleeping in.  Autumn has always been our favourite time of year – what is the season you love best...
